ME Professor to Research Transportation of Oil Pollutants along the Gulf of Mexico
Joseph Kuehl, Ph.D., assistant professor of mechanical engineering in Baylor’s School of Engineering and Computer Science, is partnering with William Anderson, Ph.D., assistant professor at the University of Texas Dallas, to conduct an observational and computational program that will measure the bottom boundary currents along the northwestern Gulf of Mexico in order to understand the transport of materials along the ocean floor.

Michael Poor, Ph.D., assistant professor of computer science in Baylor University’s School of Engineering and Computer Science has received a $158,000 grant from the National Science Foundation to fund his research on the exploration of gestural interaction usage for users with chronic pain-related diseases and conditions.

Baylor University is mourning the passing of Tommie R. Thompson, Ph.D., Professor Emeritus of Mechanical Engineering, who died June 29, 2015, surrounded by family and friends.

A memorial service will be announced at a later date and held at Austin Avenue United Methodist Church in Waco.
