Baylor Engineering Programs
Today's industry requires engineers who can act upon ideas, articulate concepts,
work within teams, and develop solutions that will meet economic and societal
issues. An ideal engineering program melds a variety of disciplines with a strong
foundation of engineering fundamentals. Baylor engineering has softened the
traditional sharp distinction between academic disciplines to produce engineering
graduates who excel as members of interdisciplinary teams. Most high-tech designs
in industry are routinely provided by such interdisciplinary teams.
Small classes and a close working relationship with demanding faculty are major
strengths of the programs. Baylor's Engineering program currently comprises 17 Ph.D. faculty and two full-time lecturers, most with extensive industrial and/or teaching experience.
Many are registered professional engineers. Graduates of the Baylor engineering
program are well prepared to begin work in industry, to pursue an advanced engineering
degree, or to pursue other career fields such as business, medicine, or law.
Baylor offers three ABET/EAC-accredited majors:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering
Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering
Bachelor of Science in Engineering
Baylor offers four distinct masters programs:
Master
of Science in Biomedical Engineering
Master
of Science in Electrical and Computer Engineering
Master
of Science in Mechanical Engineering
Master
of Engineering
Joint Bachelors and Masters are available which provide up to six hours of
dual credit. A joint Master
of Engineering/MBA program is also available and permits substantial credit
reduction compared to the requirements of the separate degrees.
