Curves International is the parent company for the "Curves for Women" exercise franchises seen in every state and all over the world. As with any highly successful business endeavor, the company and its founder/CEO Gary Heavin recognize that continued success depends on innovation.

Curves has asked Baylor engineering professors Walter Bradley (Mechanical Engineering), Brian Garner (Mechanical Engineering)and Ian Gravagne(Electrical Engineering) to design its next generation of exercise equipment. These machines will be functionally familiar and comfortable to all Curves clients, yet will be radically different in their appearance and capabilities.

This project will culminate with the release of the redesigned machines in late 2006. Phase 2 (of three research phases) is currently underway. The phase 1 and 2 cumulative funding for this project stands at $543,496.
