Commencement

As you near the end of your undergraduate career at Baylor, we want to provide you with the information you need to receive your diploma and/or participate in Baylor's commencement activities. The certification process for seniors varies by department. Please see specific instructions below based on your academic department.

Computer Science/Bioinformatics

Seniors with a major in Computer Science or Bioinformatics will receive an email from the Department of Computer Science with instructions on how to file for graduation and due dates for filing. Seniors who plan to graduate in December will need to file for graduation with the Department of Computer Science, on or before October 1 of their final semester. Seniors who plan to graduate in May or August will need to file for graduation with the Department of Computer Science on or before March 1 of their final semester. Once you have made an appointment with Office Manager, Sharon Humphrey, a degree audit will be run to ensure that you are on track to graduate at the anticipated time. Any necessary petitions will be filed at that time. Additional questions can be directed to Sharon Humphrey at (254) 710-6821.

Engineering

Seniors with a major in Engineering, Electrical & Computer Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering will file for graduation with their academic advisor during their final advising appointment. You will submit an “Intent to Graduate" form during this appointment to verify your major, minor(s), concentration(s), graduation year, and the way your name will appear on your diploma. Additional questions can be directed to Ida Jamshidi.
