Lecture of Mechanical Engineering (Two Positions)
The Mechanical Engineering Department in the School of Engineering and Computer Science seeks dynamic scholars to fill two (2) full time non-tenure track Lecturer faculty positions, one in thermofluids and the other primarily in introductory engineering courses. Other specialties, such as solid mechanics, materials, and biomaterials/ biomechanics will also be considered.
The positions will begin in August, 2010 at the rank of Lecturer (non-tenure track). Higher ranks will not be considered. Responsibilities include active undergraduate teaching, scholarly work in engineering education, course curriculum development, student advising, and professional service. Requirements include a minimum of an earned Master of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field, outstanding English communication skills, a commitment to teaching excellence, and a commitment to professional activities. In light of Baylor's strong Christian mission, the successful applicant must have an active Christian faith.
Baylor offers ABET/EAC-accredited B.S. programs in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, and Engineering. Five new engineering master's programs were established in 2004.
