Many scholarships and awards are available from sources outside Baylor University. They are designated for students in specific areas of study or specific groups, and some of them are described below.
Numerous scholarships for both undergraduate and graduate students are available to students studying in many fields including engineering. These scholarships are highly competitive and many involve study abroad. These scholarships include Marshall Scholarships, Fulbright Scholarships, and Rhodes Scholarships. The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) is pleased to announce the NASA Undergraduate Student Research Program (USRP), offering undergraduates across the United States mentored internship experiences at NASA Centers and research support facilities. USRP offers internships in engineering, science, and mathematics that give students an opportunity to work on practical problems that will see real applications in aerospace or on future NASA missions. National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship Program (GRFP). For U.S. citizens, nationals, or permanent resident aliens at or near the beginning of their graduate studies, this program offers a stipend of $30,000 a year for three years and a $10,500 cost of education allowance and a one-time $1,000 travel allowance. The Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) is proud to award scholarship money to both undergraduate and graduate engineering students. SAE scholarships assist in developing the future engineering workforce by helping students achieve their dreams of becoming an engineer. Funded through the SAE Foundation, these scholarships encourage academic excellence and help students around the world to pursue their passion for engineering. ASCO Numatics, the world's leading manufacturer of flow control and pneumatics solutions, is proud to announce the availability of new scholarships for engineering students in industrial automation-related disciplines. They will award two merit-based scholarships of $5,000 each to exceptional undergraduate and graduate students pursuing a career in manufacturing and processing engineering. Baylor University is a member of the Hispanic Association of Colleges and Universities (HACU) which awards scholarships annually. HACU uses an online scholarship application for the programs it administers.
