Jeff C. Church is Senior Director of Engineering at the Platform Integration Division (PID) of the L-3 Aerospace Systems Segment. The Waco, Texas based division provides complex aircraft modification and integration services for military, commercial and OEM customers.
In his previous position, Mr. Church served as Vice President of Engineering and Technology. In this position, he was responsible for functional performance and management of an engineering and technical support staff of approximately four hundred. In this capacity, he had responsibility for engineering functional performance across all profit/loss projects and Internal Research and Development associated with the Waco, Texas L-3 site. The functional performance responsibility included all aspects of the engineering value stream required by the project such as: requirements development, proposal development, conceptual and detailed design (electrical/mechanical), analytical substantiation, requirements verification/validation, manufacturing/installation support, technical publications, airworthiness test/evaluation, system test/evaluation and certification.
Mr. Church also previously served as a Project Engineer on multiple projects. In this capacity, he served as project technical lead with responsibility for the overall technical content and performance of the project. This responsibility included cross-functional leadership for planning and management of all engineering tasks in order to meet project technical requirements, budgets and schedule.
Mr. Church joined Electrospace Systems (predecessor company to L-3 PID) in 1987 as a mechanical design engineer. He served in increasing technical and leadership responsibilities for multiple complex aircraft modernization and integration efforts until 1998 when he was appointed as Engineering Manager responsible for technical direction of a mechanical design team. Design experience includes: development of avionics, communications and defensive systems installations, equipment rack/console structures, composite structures (radomes and fairings) and primary/secondary aircraft structures.
Mr. Church earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering from Tennessee Technological University in 1986. Mr. Church is a Six Sigma Specialist and has been nominated as a company Tribute to Excellence and winner for Organizational Performance in Engineering, Excellence in Business Performance and Leadership. Mr. Church has also received numerous engineering performance recognition certificates and awards throughout his career.
Mr. Church and his wife, Lisa, have a son (married) and a daughter.
