Experience
Mr. Hutton joined Baylor University after a 13+ year career at the Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory (JHU/APL). While at JHU/APL, his career spanned a diverse set of projects including the areas of cyber resilience, cyber risk analysis, network situational awareness, network architectures, and end-to-end systems engineering. Most recently, Mr. Hutton was Chief Engineer (acting) of a cybersecurity group at JHU/APL, where he was responsible for overseeing the technical quality and direction of cybersecurity projects. Throughout his career, Mr. Hutton has led diverse teams of various sizes working to address the needs of the various entities sponsoring his work. Mr. Hutton left a successful career in industry to come to Baylor University because he is passionate about training a future generation of critical thinkers and leaders in the cybersecurity industry. He is delighted to contribute to fulfilling Baylor University’s mission to “educate men and women for worldwide leadership and service by integrating academic excellence and Christian commitment within a caring community."
