Baylor Engineering & Computing Summer Academy 2024
The Baylor Engineering & Computing Summer Academy (BECSA) is an interactive summer day camp designed for rising 10th through 12th grade high school students.
Dates: June 24 to 28, 2024
The camp will explore concepts related to ENERGY using a series of interactive experiences:
Day 1: Rolling Energy (Acceleration, Momentum, Wind Drag, and Friction of Student-Built Vehicles)
Day 2: Electrical Energy (Voltage, Current, and Signals in Paper Circuits and Breadboard Circuits)
Day 3: Calculating Energy (Energy Prediction Using Python Programming and Kinetic Energy Measurement using Arduino)
Day 4: Energy in Flight (Building and Testing of Model Aircraft)
Day 5: Harvesting Energy (Design, Testing, and Assessment of Student-Built Steam Turbines)
Dates: June 24 to 28 – 9:00 am to 4:00pm, Monday to Friday. (drop-off from 8:45 am to 9:00 am)
Cost: $500. Price includes daily lunches and snacks, and camp merchandise. Students will also be provided with a flying model aircraft, an Arduino kit, and other engineering equipment that they can take home for further learning.
All students receive hands-on, interactive instruction from Baylor faculty and support from student leaders and staff. The camp also includes a campus tour, college and career speaker, and other fun activities. This camp is NOT for high school or college credit.

A $100 non-refundable deposit is required at registration. Cancellations made by June 7, 2024, receive a refund, less the deposit. Cancellations made after June 8 receive a 65% refund, less the deposit. Waitlist available! Our registration system will automatically notify families when a spot becomes available. Families will have 24 hours to register.
