First-Year Students beginning Summer 2026
Incoming students who choose to take Summer 2026 classes at Baylor will be advised for both summer and fall terms in May. Beginning in late April, students will receive a link in their Baylor e-mail to schedule a group advising session.
The Freshman Advising Checklist for Summer of Discovery students will guide you through the advising process in the School of Engineering & Computer Science.
Advising Checklist (Summer 2026 Admits)
1. Schedule a One-on-One Advising Session via Navigate
- A scheduling link will be sent to your Baylor E-mail in late April.
2. Prepare for Academic Advising
- Complete Foundations, a set of online modules that will help prepare you for Baylor!
- Access your goBaylor account and...
- Complete the New Student Questionnaire.
- Access any placement exams necessary before registration.
- Verify that your major appears correctly. To update, contact your Admissions Counselor and notify ECS_Advising@baylor.edu of the change.
- DOWNLOAD the Navigate Baylor App and ensure registration holds have been resolved.
- View Equipment & Computer Requirements for your major.
- Review the ECS flowchart for your intended major to familiarize yourself with your degree requirements.
- Review the Summer 2026 Schedule of Classes to familiarize yourself with class offerings.
3. One-on-One Advising Appointment {30 minutes}
Your assigned ECS academic advisor will review critical advising information and guide you through the Summer/Fall 2026 course selection process. We will build your schedule, address any questions, and ensure that you feel prepared for your transition to Baylor!
4. Post-Registration Steps
After you have been registered, you can buy a meal plan, register a vehicle, and address other important action items. Access the complete list HERE. Contact your assigned advisor if you have any additional questions throughout the summer!
