About Electrical & Computer Engineering

The mission of the Electrical and Computer Engineering Department is to provide a transformative educational experience, to engage in discovery, and to serve God's people and His creation for His glory. 

Many Electrical and Computer Engineering (ECE) students are interested in subject areas like math and science, have a natural curiosity, and enjoy experimenting with the latest technological gadgets, like computers and robots. These are some of the traits engineers use in their everyday professions. There are other talents that are needed, like good communication and interpersonal skills, which we emphasize heavily at Baylor. As good stewards of God-given talents, ECE students are also interested in developing appropriate technologies to help the underserved in underdeveloped countries, preserve the environment, and develop sustainable energy sources.

The Electrical and Computer Engineering discipline is the largest engineering profession in the workforce and Baylor ECE graduates are among the most sought-after. Our alumni have distinguished themselves within many high-tech and high-profile companies, including Raytheon, Dell, Accenture Consulting, Ernst & Young, Westinghouse, HP, General Electric, Northrop Grumman, Shell, Chrysler, Lockheed-Martin, AT&T, Texas Instruments, Unisys, Trane, Southwestern Bell, ExxonMobil, Texas Utilities, Motorola, and many others.
