Career Success at Baylor ECS

One thing that sets Baylor Engineering and Computer Science (ECS) apart is the level of comprehensive and personalized assistance students receive to help them earn excellent internships and job opportunities. We call this Career Readiness. During their time at Baylor, ECS students gain knowledge, experience, soft skills, and confidence to be as prepared as possible for what comes next after graduation.

The Baylor Career Center team has two full-time staff and a graduate assistant housed inside ECS facilities near our classrooms and labs. These experienced staff are focused on students in engineering and computer science fields. They help with resumes, mock interviews, securing internships, narrowing career paths, salary negotiation, understanding cost-of-living in various places, and much more. The Career Center also features

  • Customized career guidance for students desiring to live in a specific location or work for a specific company
  • Career Day with 100 to 150 companies on campus each semester
  • Young alumni regularly returning to campus to share their early career stories and offer advice
  • Group trips to visit small, medium, and large companies so students can get a feel for different environments
  • Career Prep courses (specific to ECS) for college credit
  • Staff with personal connections to company reps
Meet the Team

Below is a tool students can use to explore career and graduate school success data about most of the recent alumni of our undergraduate programs. Very few universities track or share this kind of data that helps students gain valuable context to inform their own career journeys. Excellence in Career Readiness is another example of what makes Baylor ECS different.
