Transfer Course Recommendations
Summer school at a community college is a great option for students who want to get a head start on an Engineering or Computer Science degree before attending Baylor. We strongly recommend that you take engineering, computer science and math courses at Baylor. This will ensure you receive the foundation needed to be successful. Below are some courses that can be transferred to Baylor if you choose to take summer classes. We strongly recommend that you only take courses already listed as equivalent according to the Equivalent Course Tool and carefully read the university's Transfer Credit Policies.
Engineering Majors
- CHE 1301 (Basic Principles of Modern Chemistry I)
- ENG 1310 (Writing and Academic Inquiry)
- ENG 2301, 2306, 2310 (Literature option)
- PHY 1420 (General Physics I)
- PHY 1430 (General Physics II)
- PSC 1305 or 1306 (American National Government OR American State & Local Government) - approved as PSC 1387 for ECS majors if completed pre-matriculation
- Foreign Language - Second-level proficiency (1302 OR 1412)
Computer Science/Bioinformatics/Data Science Majors
- ENG 1310 (Writing and Academic Inquiry)
- ENG 2301, 2306, 2310 (Literature option)
- PSC 1305 or 1306 (American National Government OR American State & Local Government) - approved as PSC 1387 for ECS majors if completed pre-matriculation
- Course from A&S Contemporary Social Issues Distribution List
- Lab Science elective (equivalents for CHE 1301/1101, CHE 1302/1102, BIO 1305/1105, BIO 1306/1106, PHY 1420, PHY 1430, GEO 1405, or GEO 1306/1106)
- Foreign Language - Second-level proficiency (1302 OR 1412)
