Judging is 2 to 3:30 p.m. At least one person must be present at all times during this period to present the info to judges. Judges will evaluate visual presentation, technical value, and content delivery.
FACULTY & STAFF: There 's a chance we may need more judges. Email Lane_Murphy@baylor.edu if you are willing to judge during the 2pm to 3:3o window.
$1,200 in total prizes will be awarded, with three undergraduate and three graduate prizes. All current ECS students are eligible to participate.
Individual and group posters are welcome, and posters must be your original content. It's okay to present a poster from a course or competition you have already participated in this academic year, but it must be from this school year.
COMPETITORS
At least one person from your group will receive an email from Rocketjudge.com, which is the judging platform. All ECS students will receive an email about the Research Showcase. That email will contain a link to this page, where you can find instructions and details. You can see your scores there. When you arrive at the event at 1:30 p.m., check at the bottom of this page or the digital screens to find your poster location.
Check the maps and list below to find your poster. Please make sure to be by your poster by 2 p.m. There's no guarantee a judge will have time to come back if no one is there to present when they stop by. They will come at all different times, and at least three judges should visit your poster. Almost all undergrads are on the first floor, and all grad students will be on floors 2 and 3. At 3:30, start making your way down to the lobby for results. You can take your poster, but please leave the board and easel.
Only one entry per group allowed. Only one entry per individual allowed. It is possible for an individual to have both a group and individual poster, but someone must cover all posters at all times during the judging window. If a group poster wins a prize, the total prize amount will be divided among the group.
Three judges, including member of the ECS Board of Advocates, will come by your poster between 2 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. While it is strongly encouraged that the group or individual is present at your poster from 1:30 to 4 p.m., participants (or at least one person from the group) must be present from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. during official judging. Winners will be announced at the end of the event at 3:45 p.m. in the Rogers lobby. Judges should supply their phone number and email to receive a ballot, which can be scored via your cell phone. This is a paperless contest.
