Bioinformatics
Research in bioinformatics applies computer science to solve problems in genomics, molecular biology, chemistry, genetics and protein structure that directly impact human disease.
Current topics in bioinformatics research include: high dimensional data mining, machine learning, statistics, graph theory, functional genomics, data integration and harmonization.
Bioinformatics research takes place within multiple academic units at Baylor, including the Institute of Biomedical Studies, the Department of Biology, Department of Chemistry, Department of Nutrition, and Environmental Sciences.
