Swing4Smiles Wheelchair Swing Installation & Reception

This event is the culmination of a partnership project between Baylor University Mechanical Engineering, Texas State Technical College, and the community of Axtell to design and fabricate a wheelchair swing for their new community park. During the fall 2021 semester, the Baylor engineering team took the lead to design the wheelchair swing. One group designed the structure. The other group designed the platform or carrier. The work transitioned to the TSTC students in the spring of 2022. The welding department fabricated the various components. The automotive restoration department applied the final finishings.
