The BSI degree is a multidisciplinary program offered in conjunction with the Biology Department. The uniqueness of the program is the strong foundation it provides in both disciplines. Graduates may pursue careers in computer science, biology or bioinformatics. The curriculum includes courses in biology, computer science, chemistry and mathematics, as well as the humanities and social sciences. It is an excellent choice for students planning to enter the medical profession. The BSI degree (Bioinformatics major) requires a minimum of 124 hours with 33 hours of computer science, 20 hours of biology and 9 hours of bioinformatics.
