Abstract and Paper Submission
Reimagining Engineering Education for a Changing World | March 24-26, 2021
The American Society for Engineering Education Gulf-Southwest (ASEE-GSW) invites the submission of papers and presentations for our annual conference hosted by the Baylor University from March 24-26, 2021. The conference theme is “Reimagining Engineering Education for a Changing World” and challenges facing the changing state of engineering education as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.
Faculty/Staff/Professionals
Educational papers (see paper types below) that are not strictly scientific or strictly technical in nature. All papers are to be presented in oral presentation sessions at the conference.
Students
Both Graduate and Undergraduate students are asked to submit an abstract leading to a full paper. Student papers can be educational or technical.
Paper Types
There are four categories for submissions:
- Faculty/Staff/Professional Full-length Paper
This category is for a full-length paper leading to a presentation. Recommended paper length is 3 to 15 pages in ASEE-GSW conference proceedings format. The paper template for a sample paper should be used.
- Faculty/Staff/Professional Extended Abstract
This is one to two-page abstract describing the topic for presentation only at the conference.
- Graduate Student Full-length Paper
This category is for a full-length paper leading to a presentation. First author should be a graduate student. Recommended paper length is 3 to 15 pages in ASEE-GSW conference proceedings format. The paper template for a sample paper should be used.
- Undergraduate Student Full-length Paper
This category is for a full-length paper leading to a presentation. First author should be an undergraduate student. Recommended paper length is 3 to 15 pages in ASEE-GSW conference proceedings format. The paper template for a sample paper should be used.

Submissions & Deadlines
For all submitted full papers/extended abstracts, the expectation is that at least one of the co-authors must register and attend the conference to present the accepted paper/extended abstract. Papers/extended abstracts without a registration will not be included in the conference program.
Timeline for Submission
November 30, 2020: Abstracts due (faculty and student papers, faculty presentations)
December 7, 2020: Notification of abstract acceptance
January 22, 2021: Deadline for submission of draft papers
February 8, 2021: Reviews complete, comments returned to authors, paper acceptance
March 1, 2021: Revised, Final Paper due
March 24-26, 2021: Conference begins

The ASEE Organizational Website will be managing our papers this year. Once you click on the link, you will be asked to login to the ASEE website. If you don’t have an account, you will need to create one. There are four categories listed for abstract/paper submission.
