School of Engineering and Computer Science Announces New Financial Manager

December 13, 2023
Christi Whittredge

Christi Whittredge has joined Baylor University’s School of Engineering and Computer Science (ECS) Business Office team as Financial Manager. She is a CPA with financial management experience in industry and the federal government.

Most recently, Whittredge was the Cost Analysis and Oversight Team Lead at the Office of Clean Energy Demonstrations within the Department of Energy. Prior to that, she performed multiple roles in cost analysis and grants management at the National Science Foundation.

“To be able to bring to Baylor ECS someone the caliber of Christi Whittredge, not only with acumen and experience in areas where our School is poised for growth, but to also have that familiarity and built-in love for Baylor, really is quite remarkable,” said Michael Dooley, who became Baylor ECS business officer in May 2023 to lead a team that also includes financial administrators Sara Baker and Alvaro Garcia. “The ECS Business Office is well positioned to help move ECS forward under the leadership of Dean Daniel Pack.”

Whittredge earned her BBA in Accounting from Baylor University and her Master’s Degree in Management from Troy University. She recently moved back to Waco from the Washington D.C. area. Christi is happy to be back in Texas for many reasons, including being near her family and having easy access to great Tex-Mex and BBQ. She has two children, both of whom are college students, and two dogs. She and her husband enjoy being active and rediscovering all the fun things to do in Waco.

“Returning to campus has felt like coming home in many ways. However, I’m amazed at how much the campus has grown and transformed since I was last here,” said Whittredge. “I’m honored to be back at Baylor and excited to be part of the business transformation initiative. As a member of this innovative and collaborative business office team, I look forward to contributing to Baylor and ECS’s vision for the future.”
