The Baylor School of Engineering & Computer Science announces 30th Anniversary Events Schedule for Fall 2025
The Baylor School of Engineering and Computer Science (ECS) will host a series of events welcoming alumni and friends back to campus during the School’s 30th Anniversary in the 2025-26 academic year. Guests will have special opportunities to reconnect and reflect with former classmates and faculty, along with chances to learn about the growth of ECS which includes academic programs and research initiatives that prepare our students to impact the world.
“As we celebrate 30 years of excellence at the School of Engineering and Computer Science, we honor those whose vision and dedication built the strong foundation for our future,” said Daniel Pack, Ph.D., Dean of the School of Engineering and Computer Science. “Looking ahead, we seek to grow our academic programs, including aerospace engineering, bioengineering, and materials engineering, as well as advanced computing and AI. Additionally, we plan to expand our research impact through strategic partnerships that strengthen education and innovation.”
On Tuesday, September 2, Picnic Palooza (formerly known as Beach Bash) is a tradition that celebrates the beginning of a new academic year. It will be held at the beautiful Hurd Welcome Center.
The annual ECS Tailgate Party will be October 4, when the Bears take on Kansas State at McLane Stadium. The gathering at Mayborn Pavilion is one of the biggest ECS events each year.
Baylor Homecoming Weekend (October 31/November 1) will feature three events for alumni and friends, including a Friday Brunch with Dean Pack at the Rogers Building. In the afternoon, head over to a special Dr Pepper Hour at the Baylor Research and Innovation Collaborative (BRIC) for some innovative fun and fellowship. On Saturday morning, find the ECS Parade Watch Party Tent near Carroll Library (5th St. and Speight) for the perfect spot to catch up with old friends and make new ones.
On Thursday, November 13, ECS will welcome the first-ever honorees of the School’s new Alumni & Friends Awards Program. Awardees will be announced in August.
Rounding out the semester will be a Virtual Alumni & Faculty Reunion on December 16 for those who may not be able to return to Waco. The slate of spring events will be announced at a later date.
“We look forward to meaningfully connecting with as many alumni and friends as possible during this special year,” said Lane Murphy, director of marketing and communications for ECS. “The School’s 25th Anniversary celebration was hindered by Covid-19, so celebrating ECS with our alumni and friends in a more meaningful way feels well past due.”
