David Engfer

David Engfer, BSI ’06, is Vice President at Pariveda, where he has worked for more than 15 years in various roles, including principal consultant, senior managing consultant, and associate consultant. Known for his ability to bridge the gap between emerging technologies and practical innovation, Engfer’s Modern Data Enterprise Framework has shaped how organizations and technology leaders think about data strategy, while his published insights challenge businesses to embrace culture shifts alongside technical evolution. Inspired by Engfer, leaders at Pariveda created the GRIT (Galvanizing, Relational, Inspirational, and Tenacious) Award not just because of his contributions, but also because of his leadership and commitment to others. Engfer previously worked at Northrop Grumman as a software developer and at USAA as an IT programmer/analyst. At Baylor, he earned a degree in Bioinformatics. For more than nine years, Engfer has served students as an adjunct instructor in Baylor’s Department of Computer Science, where he has also served on the Industrial Board since 2014. David has strengthened the connection between industry and academia in Baylor’s Department of Computer Science through his work with its Capstone Program. Engfer is also a longtime volunteer for the Texas Neurofibromatosis Foundation.
