Lauren Dreyer

Lauren Dreyer, BSME '05, advances global efforts to expand affordable, reliable connectivity through Starlink. She has been instrumental in extending internet access to rural and remote communities worldwide, supporting education, healthcare, agriculture, and disaster response, and helping close the digital divide through technology, public–private partnership, and engagement with stakeholders across diverse jurisdictions. She leads multi-country efforts, in partnership with humanitarian organizations, to deliver connectivity for disaster response and recovery following major storms and earthquakes, enabling civilian relief when terrestrial networks are damaged or unavailable.

Since joining SpaceX in 2006, Lauren has held leadership roles at the intersection of technology, regulation, and international market development. For the past six years she has focused on building and scaling Starlink globally. Under her leadership, Starlink has expanded to more than 160 countries and territories and now connects over 12 million users across consumer, enterprise, and government segments—including communities historically underserved by terrestrial infrastructure. She oversees Starlink broadband operations worldwide and, as her portfolio has expanded, leads global affairs and market development for SpaceX’s AI initiatives, working with national authorities and international partners to enable inclusive access to space-based connectivity and emerging digital technologies. 

Lauren previously co-chaired the B20 South Africa Digital Transformation Task Force, contributing to recommendations on digital inclusion and the role of technology in sustainable development, and served on the Texas Aerospace and Aviation Advisory Board from 2018 to 2024. She also serves her alma mater, Baylor University, on the President’s Leadership Council, the School of Engineering and Computer Science Board of Advocates, and the Mayborn Museum Board of Advocates, supporting STEM education and informal learning for young people. She holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering from Baylor University and an MBA from Texas A&M University.
