Tim Franklin

Tim Franklin, BSME '98, is currently the Chief Vehicle Assessment Specialist for Nissan Motor Company North America.  He oversees vehicle assessment and upstream vehicle target definition. Tim is married to Jo (Girard) Franklin (BU ’98) and has three children, Graham (BU ’27), Wesley, and Lidiyanna. Tim’s mother, Patsy (Parchman) Franklin (BU ’64), started the Baylor tradition, and he followed his sister Melanie (Franklin) Dreyer (BU ’95) to Baylor. 

Tim has held diverse roles in the auto industry including manufacturing engineering, development finance, brand management, and product planning and strategy.  Over Tim’s nearly 30 year career in the auto industry, he has had the opportunity to work at three auto makers including General Motors, Ford Motor Company and Nissan Motor Company.

Tim has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Baylor University and a Master of Business Administration from Vanderbilt University. Residing in Nashville, Tennessee, Tim is an elder at Grace Community Church. He enjoys working on cars, water skiing with the family and flying his Cessna 150 (Woodstock) with his son Graham (Jo won’t fly with him... yet.)
